Well, its been a week. Our first week here in Virginia. We just moved into our new apartment tonight.
Our Cube, with all our things inside, was delivered the day after we arrived. Then next day we hired some movers to unload it all into our living room. As far as I can tell, nothing was damaged besides a tray table that was scratched.
We've had a bit of trouble with getting our bed in here, and the internet/cable thing has taken way too much time, but we are FINALLY in our NEST. Its lovely. Truly perfect for us. We have not had to use the air conditioner yet. The fan keeps it cool which, let me tell you, is a major blessing from GOD!
Michaels parents flew out to help us get settled this last week and my mom is coming out next week. The parents are AMAZING. Michael's painted our entire bedroom and an accent wall in the living room, fed us, and were basically willing to be our slave labor and food providers for a week. The paint looks GREAT! THANK YOU we love having you here and already miss you.
We ordered our bed from a company in California that we've used before. They shipped it and scheduled to deliver it, then didn't , then rescheduled, then rescheduled again, and again, and again. I've never had so many from X-Y time windows for delivery in my life. Michael and I waited at the empty apartment, (LITERALLY empty not even a chair or cup, or toilet paper ***Note to self***) waiting for the mattress to be delivered and FINALLY four days late, it was.
Well, kind of...
They brought he wrong mattress.
They delivered a pillow top. Michael can't sleep on a pillow top. So after Heckle and Jeckle took over an hour to get the WRONG mattress into the house we have been waiting for several days for someone to come and take it back.
We even had to go to a Mattress Discounters here to buy another one. It will not be here for a few days, so that company is giving us a brand new, sealed mattress as a "loaner" till our real one gets here. I didn't even know that was a thing! I am very excited to NOT sleep in a hotel tonight for the first night in 20 nights.
We worked on hooking up cable and internet today, there have been ups and downs. Got the wrong equipment from the cable company, and then drove to get the right stuff and went to put it all together. One of the MAIN components has a manufacturers defect and has to be returned. So after spending 9 hours today working on getting the TV to work,,, we have to wait 3-5 business days for the new equipment to arrive. I thought Michael was about to cry when I told him no TV for a week. lol
My phone is STILL shattered. (BEWARE shattered phone screens are made of glass :(
I hope to get a new one tomorrow so I can add some more pictures.
Ok 2am must sleep. thanks for the patience.
